What am I reaching for?
Name the app, the impulse, and the thing you hope it gives you.
7-Day Challenge
For seven days, before you open the app you were about to scroll, write 50 words first. If you still want the app after that, open it. The win is that your thought got there first.
iPhone beta, open through TestFlight. No social account required.
Why it works
Doomscrolling often starts before it feels like a decision. The challenge interrupts the first minute, when the habit is still small.
The seven days
Name the app, the impulse, and the thing you hope it gives you.
Let the sentence be messy. Avoidance is useful information.
Choose one real thing: a walk, a page, a text, a glass of water.
Time, mood, sleep, attention, appetite, patience. Keep it specific.
Connection, novelty, escape, proof, entertainment, relief. Say it plainly.
Write like you are leaving a short note on the kitchen table.
Look for the smallest change: a shorter scroll, a calmer entry, one app you opened less, one thought you would have missed.
Start today
The beta lets the challenge live where the habit happens: on the iPhone, right before the apps that pull you into the feed.
